Team Calendar:

  • Practice starts opening day (usually the 2nd weekend in December) through the 2nd weekend in March.
  • Check the LMRT Team Calendar but bring equipment for both GS and SL. (Registered members must be signed in to view the "Team Calendar" section of the website.)
  • Practices will follow the calendar as much as possible.
  • Conditions and other factors may change however, and athletes are encouraged to bring both GS and SL equipment to each practice.
  • Coaches will post the final details for the session (e.g. the training trail, etc.) on the LMRT bulletin board (located on your right when exiting the locker room).

Meeting Places:

  • Development Team participants meet coaches on-snow in front of the main lodge five minutes before the start of morning practice (7:55AM)
  • J1-5s athletes meet coaches for morning practice in the main locker room 10 minutes before practice starts ready to hit the snow.  J1-3s will be expected to help coaches with course setting.
  • Practice details, including the trail where the course will be set, will be posted on the LMRT bulletin board (on your right when entering the main locker room).
  • All LMRT athletes meet their coaches after lunch on the snow in front of the lodge at 11:45AM.

Course Inspection & Tear Down:

  • All athletes must inspect courses before running them for safety and training purposes.
  • They are also expected to assist with side-slipping afterwards.

Weather:

  • We practice snow, rain or shine.  As long as the Mountain opens, we will train.
  • A forecast for rain or poor weather usually turns away skiers and leaves the entire mountain for those who show up (and great training for us).
  • Dress for the weather and maximize your opportunities (i.e. second pair of gloves, etc.)
  • In the event of severe storms, call the resort’s information line to check on delayed openings (717-642-8282).
  • In the event of significant snowfall, it is usually not possible to set courses for gate training.
  • On major powder days (12” or more snow), formal Development Team practice starts at 11:45AM, but come ski as early as you can get to the Mountain safely.
  • Development Team Participation is not required on severe weather days (e.g. major powder, ice storms, etc.).  Please do not risk your safety in order to attend practice.
