A program designed for adults who wish
to develop their alpine skiing and racing skills to their highest
potential.
Format
Many adults participate in LMRT's Masters programs for the
fun of improving their skiing and the sense of accomplishment
from running gates.
Others find it an excellent way to prepare for local racing
opportunities. (See Masters Racing Opportunities below)
LMRT offers Masters athletes a choice between two weekend
programs, and optional weeknight training.
The full Masters Program consists of all day sessions each
weekend to both improve gate tactics and the underlying skills
that are fundamental to strong skiing and racing.
Weekend mornings consist of gate training, tactics, drill
courses, and timed runs.
Weekend afternoons consist of on-snow drills and directed
free skiing to hone the fundamentals and acquire advanced techniques.
The Masters Gate Program is limited to the morning session
of gate training, tactics, and drill courses.
Weeknight training is also offered on Tuesday and Thursday
evenings for an additional one-time fee.
Masters programs do not meet the day LMRT holds its PARA
race.
No special equipment is required, but skiing-specific helmets
are required for all giant slalom practices.
Staffing & Athlete-to-Coach Ratio:
The Masters program maintains a ratio
of approximately 4 to 6 athletes per coach for practice sessions.
Masters Racing Opportunities:
In addition to those who participate just for the fun of
just improving their skiing, many train with LMRT to prepare
for Masters' race series such or family events held at Liberty
Mountain Resort.
American Ski Racing Alliance: This series of races is open
to all recreational skiers, regardless of ability. For more
