Where It Started

LMRT didn't start with a business plan or some grand vision statement. It started in 1976 with families who wanted their kids to ski fast, race hard, and love every second of it. Back then we were the "Ski Liberty-Ski Haus Racing Team"—a name that perfectly captures the grassroots spirit of how this whole thing began.

Fast forward through an official incorporation in 1986, a 501(c)(3) designation, a name change when Liberty Mountain got its rebrand in 2004, and here we are: 100 athletes from 75 families, all chasing their own version of the podium.

We're not here to produce Olympians (though we won't complain if that happens). We're here to build skiers who show up, work hard, get better, and fall in love with the sport. We're creating lifelong skiers—and often, generational traditions. From U8 athletes learning what gates even are to U21 racers hunting FIS points, every athlete at LMRT matters.

Liberty Mountain Resort is home. It's where we train, where we race, where we win, and where we figure out how to bounce back when we don't. Sure, Mid-Atlantic skiing isn't always kind to us—we've trained in rain, on ice, and in conditions that would make Colorado racers cry. But that's what makes us tough. That's what makes us LMRT. It's our mountain, and we love it.

What We Stand For

Our Mission

Build fast skiers. Build better humans. Inspire a lifelong love of skiing that gets passed down from one generation to the next.

Our VALUES

Your Podium, Your Rules

First place is cool. So is your first clean GS run. So is shaving two seconds off yesterday. Whatever your podium looks like, we're here to help you stand on it.

Work Hard, No Shortcuts

Talent helps. Work wins. We show up, we put in the time, we get better. That's the deal.

Respect the Mountain, Respect the Sport

We race hard and we race fair. Every time.

Community Over Everything

75 families, 100 athletes, countless parents freezing at 7 AM race starts. We're in this together.

Why LMRT Hits Different

Coaches Who Get It

USSA-certified, racing experience, and they actually remember what it's like to be the athlete. They push you hard because they know you can handle it.

Results That Speak

Podiums, championships, FIS points, college skiing placements. We're not just out here for practice laps.

Liberty Mountain = Home Field

We train where we race. We know every inch of this mountain. That's an advantage.

U8 to U21 = One Path, One Passion

Start as a Future Star, finish racing at the highest levels—or find your own path along the way. Either way, you'll leave as a lifelong skier with a love for the sport that never fades.

It's a Family Thing

Race crew parents, TeamSnap updates at 6 AM, carpools, shared hotel rooms, post-race pizza. We've got 75 families who show up for each other—and we're seeing younger siblings join, parents who raced here bringing their own kids back. This is how traditions start.

Find Your Podium. Stand On It.

Here's the truth: not every kid is going to the Olympics. Most won't even race in college. And that's completely fine.

At LMRT, your podium is whatever you make it. For some athletes, it's standing on an actual box with their name announced. For others, it's nailing that turn they've been working on all season. For others, it's showing up every weekend and pushing through when it's hard.

All of it counts. All of it matters.

We train hard because getting better feels good. We celebrate podiums because winning is fun. We show up for each other because that's what teams do. And somewhere along the way, racing becomes more than just a winter activity—it becomes part of who you are. It's the sport you'll teach your own kids someday. Nobody's path looks the same, and that's the whole point.

Find your podium. Work for it. Stand on it. Repeat.
