BRian Eardley
U18 Head Coach | LMRT Original
Since 1980. Yeah, you read that right.
Brian didn't just join Liberty Mountain Race Team—he helped start it. Back in 1980, when it was still called the Ski Liberty Race Team, Brian was there at the beginning. Forty-five years later, he's still here, still coaching, still getting athletes fired up to compete.
His racing resume spans coast to coast: PARA Keystone Cup champion, Rocky Mountain Division USSA competitor, Stowe town leagues, Regional Circuit pro races, and a two-time winner of the Mid-Atlantic Ski Shop Race Time competition. He's raced everything from local circuits to pro events, and he brings every bit of that experience to LMRT's U18 program.
His coaching superpower? Getting kids mentally and emotionally ready to compete. Because talent matters, but when you're standing in that start gate, it's your head that wins the race.
When he's not coaching, Brian's probably winning national championships in slot car racing (yes, really—two-time national champ), riding his bike, messing around with his modular synthesizer, or playing with toy trains. He doesn't believe in pump-up music, his dream ski destination is "wherever I'm skiing next," and his guilty pleasure is Hot Dog: The Movie.
Oh, and one more thing: Brian's one of the best boot fitters in the country. You can find him at Alpine Ski Shop, where he'll get your racer's feet dialed in like nobody else.
Why he coaches: "The kids are always fun."
After 45 years, Brian's still here because LMRT athletes are always excited about racing and their future as skiers. That's all the motivation he needs.
