Robbie White
U18/U21 Coach | Slalom Course Architect
Eight years racing. Six years coaching. Born on snow.
Robbie's dad grew up in Alaska, raced as a kid, then coached and instructed for 40 years. So naturally, Robbie grew up on snow too. He raced PARA from U12 through U21, made the PARA State Team in 2006, and spent his racing years training at Whiteface Mountain in New York alongside some of the best in the country.
His claim to fame? He raced against most of the U.S. Ski Team and started in front of Ted Ligety just a month after Ligety won his first gold medal in Torino. (Brian Eardley can validate this story.)
His coaching superpower? Setting a GREAT slalom course. Robbie's always at the mountain early to maximize gate time for his athletes, and he knows how to balance technical precision with keeping it simple and fun. Because at the end of the day, if it's not fun, what's the point?
When he's not coaching, Robbie's working as a firefighter/EMT, golfing (he's a scratch golfer), playing tennis or pickleball, or hanging out with his wife and two beautiful little girls. His guilty pleasure is a bacon cheeseburger and fries or some good wings. His dream ski destination? Alaska—going full circle back to where his dad started.
What he loves most about coaching LMRT: "The underdog story. Seeing athletes from a small mountain in southern Pennsylvania not only win against other PARA athletes but even athletes from northern states and academies. It's not always about the mountain you come from—it's your dedication and will to win."
Why he coaches: "Love for the sport."
