U18-21

Their podium. Their climb. Their highest step.

Your athlete might have been racing since they were seven—or they might have just discovered it last season. They might be coming from another team, or they might be a powerful skier ready to find out what competition is all about.

All paths lead here.

Welcome to U18-U21—LMRT's most advanced program. PA Cup Series racing. Eastern circuit competition. FIS racing opportunities. College skiing preparation. The highest level of training we offer.

These athletes push each other at practice and celebrate each other at the finish line. The bonds run deep. The work is serious. The team culture is everything.

Some will race in college. Some will chase FIS points. Some will hang up their race skis after high school with zero regrets and a lifetime of memories.

Right now, they're at the top of LMRT's pathway—the veterans, the leaders, the ones setting the standard for everyone who comes after them.

If your athlete is ready to work at the highest level, there's a place for them here.

WHAT WE DO

U18-U21 is LMRT's elite-level racing program for athletes ages 16-20 ready for serious Eastern-level and FIS competition. Full training schedule, extensive race travel, advanced technical development, and college skiing preparation.

Weekend Training Schedule:

  • Morning Session: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM

  • Lunch Break: 11:00 AM - 11:45 AM

  • Afternoon Session: 11:45 AM - 3:00 PM

Training Schedule:

  • Weekend Sessions

  • Weeknight Gates

  • Pre-Season Training: Colorado, Vermont

  • Christmas Camp: Maine

  • Speed Camp: New York (January, Super G/GS training)

We train like serious athletes because that's what U18-U21 racers are. Technical refinement at speed. Tactical adjustments. Video analysis. Course study. Mental preparation. Everything that goes into performing when it matters.

And then we race everywhere.

WHAT YOUR ATHLETE WILL LEARN

Elite-Level Race Technique

Everything they've learned up to now gets refined and executed at race speed. Carving precision. Line optimization across varying terrain and conditions. Adapting technique to different course sets and snow conditions. This is where good technique becomes instinctive.

PA Cup Series & Eastern Circuit Competition

Eight PA Cup races throughout the season. Points. Rankings. State Team selection. Qualification for Eastern Championships. Learning what it takes to compete against the best in the region.

FIS Racing & Points Management

For athletes pursuing college skiing: understanding the FIS system, strategic race selection, points management, how college coaches evaluate recruits. We help athletes navigate this process.

Advanced Mental Game

Managing pressure at the highest level. Recovering from setbacks mid-season. Staying focused through injury or disappointment. Understanding that mental preparation is as important as physical preparation.

Leadership & Mentorship

What it means to be a senior athlete on the team. How to mentor younger racers. How to set the standard for work ethic, sportsmanship, and team culture. These athletes are LMRT's leaders—they set the tone.

Who This is For

U18-21 is perfect for athletes who:

  • Are 16-20 years old

  • Have extensive racing experience with us or other teams and are ready to commit to competitive training

  • Can make dynamic, aggressive turns at speed on expert terrain

  • Are ready for maximum training commitment (weekends + weeknights + multiple camps)

  • Want to compete at PA Cup Series and/or Eastern Championship level

  • Are pursuing or considering FIS racing and college skiing opportunities

  • Are committed to being team leaders and positive influences

  • Have families ready to support significant travel and time commitment

Minimum skiing requirement: Advanced expert-level skiing with proven ability to ski aggressively at speed on challenging terrain. Strong technical foundation required.

Racing experience required. Typically 5+ years, but we welcome strong skiers new to racing who demonstrate the technical ability and commitment required for this level.

THE TRUTH ABOUT U18-21

This is the highest level of commitment LMRT offers. We're training athletes for PA Cup, FIS racing, college skiing. The work is serious. The competition is intense.

But here's what matters most: we're still coaching humans. 16-20 year olds who are figuring out their futures, managing school and racing, deciding what they want their next chapter to look like.

Some athletes will race in college. Some will chase FIS points. Some will realize halfway through the season that they're done with competitive racing—and walk away with skills, memories, and friendships that'll last forever.

All of those paths are success. Our job isn't to force anyone down a specific road. Our job is to provide the training, the competition, and the support for athletes to chase whatever version of skiing success they want. The rest is up to them.

Time Commitment

Training:

  • Saturdays and Sundays, January through early March

  • Weeknight gates (January onward, strongly recommended)

  • Early-season training camps (optional but recommended)

  • Holiday camp (late December, highly recommended)

  • Speed Camp

  • Dryland training

Races:

  • 8 PA Cup Series races (statewide travel required)

  • FIS races (for athletes pursuing points/college skiing)

  • Eastern Championships (March, invitational—for qualified athletes)

  • Potential additional races based on athlete goals and qualifications

This is the highest level of commitment LMRT offers. More training hours. More travel. Higher expectations. But it's also where years of work pay off—where athletes compete at their highest level and figure out what comes next.

PA CUP SERIES & EASTERN CHAMPIONSHIPS

U18-U21 athletes compete in the PA Cup Series—eight statewide races throughout the season. These races determine State Team selection and eligibility for Eastern Championships.

How It Works:

  • Athletes earn points based on performance across all PA Cup races

  • Top performers in U18 and U21 age groups are selected to Pennsylvania State Teams

  • State Team members qualify for Eastern Championships

LMRT's Track Record:
We consistently place U18 and U21 athletes on Pennsylvania State Teams. We expect our athletes to compete for State Team spots—and we train them to that standard.

Eastern Championships:
The pinnacle of Eastern regional youth racing. The best athletes from across the Eastern region compete. Making it to Easterns is a significant achievement—it means you're among the top racers in your age group in the entire region.

WHERE THEY GO FROM HERE

U18-U21 is the final stage of LMRT's competitive pathway. After this, athletes move on to:

  • College skiing programs (NCAA D1/D2/D3 or club)

  • Post-graduate/masters racing (if continuing competitive skiing)

  • Recreational skiing (many athletes transition to skiing for fun after competitive careers end)

  • Coaching/mentorship roles (some athletes return to LMRT or other programs as coaches)

  • Lifelong love of skiing (the real win—keeping skiing as part of their lives forever)

Some athletes race all five years (U18 and U21 span ages 16-20). Some decide after a year or two that competitive racing has run its course. All of it is success.

We're not here to force anyone down a specific path. We're here to provide the training, the competition, and the support for athletes to chase whatever version of skiing success they want.

The rest is up to them.
